I Must Confess…I used to vlog

Before I get stuck into the confessing, I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting me through the hardest week of my life. As some of you may know, as unready as I was, I lost my Dad last Monday. It was much quicker than expected although it was a relief to finally see him released from his suffering.

Your beautiful words of love, support and friendship helped me through and I can never thank you enough for your understanding and for your kindness. It will be forever appreciated and never forgotten. Thank you so much for being there for me x

I USED TO VLOG

Now, onto the confessing. I’ve seen a few of you vlog lately and I thought it would be fun to have a prompt devoted to vlogs (or video blogs for those of you scratching your heads and wondering what the hell I’m on about).

Did you know that #imustconfess originally started out as a series of vlogs? Well it did. Back in late 2011 I decided to start the linkup and I felt the best way to kick things off was to make my confessions personally, via video. However wearing my pjs in that first video was probably trying to take the personal bit to a whole new level…

While it worked for a while, vlogging my confessions ended up being far more work than crafting a traditional post so I reverted to my present format. But I still do the occasional vlog – it is a whole lot of fun and I think it’s a great way to see the blogger behind the blog.

Here are the links to those early vlog confessions. Apologies in advance for the eye closing, weird mouth movements and nasal voice…

I have no idea what I’m doing

Welcome to my pantry

Do you vlog? Have you always wanted to give it a go but lacked the reason or the inclination? Go out there and do it and then link it back here. It can’t be as bad as some of my early efforts… 😉

The Rules…

I Must Confess

– I Must Confess is a link up that runs every Monday and remains live for the whole week.

– You can link up something old or new, we’re not fussy around here.

– Feel free to go with the prompt for the week or add your own confession, whatever suits.

– Please go forth and share the comment love – it is bloggy crack after all!

– We’re always open to suggestions for the weekly prompt!

Next week’s prompt – do you have an item that you treasure? What does it mean to you and why?

  2. Oh Kirst I can’t imagine what this week has been like for you, and to be honest I don’t want to think too hard because as you know fantastic health isn’t something my beloved dad has. Thinking of you lovely…. big hug and just go easy on yourself for longer than you think you should xxxxx

Thanks Em. It’s been hard but everything over the last 6 or 7 months has been hard when it’s come to Dad’s health. I’m sending every good health vibe I have to you and your Dad my friend x

  3. Sorry about your dad lovely lady…
Oh I loved watching some of your earlier vlogs…. it is quite intimidating talking to camera and watching yourself on the BIG or little screen.

      Thanks Nat x

I haven’t watched those videos in years – I hate watching myself on film. It is very uncomfortable and confronting putting yourself out there but sometimes it is worth it…

  4. I’ve made a couple of vlogs but as I’m a writer, I much prefer writing my posts

  5. I have made one vlog and found it incredibly confronting – you are a brave woman. However, I have been working on something that has made me incredibly nervous but think I will do it and hope that it gets the laugh that is intended for an adult audience! I’ll let you know when it goes live! But I do believe I am predominantly a writer! Mel xx

  6. Nope no vloging here. Ok well technically I’ve done 3 as part of reviews but they were really short demo videos and only made up part of the review and you can only see me in one of them lol.

Sorry about your dad lovely x

You a superstar for turning up here today. I would just want to hide and eat all the cake. But this is what your Dad would want. Thinking of you.

I don’t know if I’ll ever be brave enough to vlog (or even be able to figure out how!), but you never know.

  8. This past week must have been so overwhelming. Don’t feel guilty at the relief that your father has no more pain and enjoy sharing the good memories with family. Look after yourself, you are being thought of.

Thanks Anne. You know I had been feeling guilty that I felt relief for him and for mum. I miss him like crazy but I’m glad he is in no more pain and that we have so many beautiful memories to look back on x
