I Must Confess…I am most happy when…

I am most happy when...

…I get up early, grab a cuppa and enjoy the quiet calm of the early morning on my back deck, with obligatory puppy at my feet.

…we do something together as a family that challenges us and we emerge from it with renewed confidence and belief.

…I can spend some one-on-one time with my husband, just enjoying each other’s company and presence.

…I’ve spent a morning playing tennis, learning new techniques and having the chance to try them out.

…I grab some unexpected one-on-one time with one of my kids, have a real conversation and learn something new about them.

…my puppies snuggle next to me – it’s just so cute and comforting.

…I get the chance to see my mum and dad and see for myself how well dad is recovering.

…the words flow from my fingers and I have the chance to capture them and create something meaningful and unique.

…I have the chance to catch up with my friends and everything feels right and well with the world again.

…I reflect on everything I have and take the opportunity to be truly grateful for everything in my life.

So I cheated. I couldn’t think of just one thing that makes me happy so I included everything. Well, mostly everything – I bet I’ll think up many more examples when I get a chance to read your posts too!

When are you most happy? And yes, you are allowed to include multiple responses, just like me!

  1. Most definitely a list of things, but it’s great to put that list together, and reflect on all the joy in your life….

  2. My post would be a lot like yours. I don’t think it I could pinpoint just one thing and most would be simple enough and revolve around my family.

I’ve linked up my Valentine’s Day LBD post, as I was asked on Friday to blank out the entire week, waiting for my MRI (Tuesday) and results. Since then I’ve been focusing my time on my family and if I’m honest most of what I’ve written isn’t fit for the blog.

Interesting prompt for next week, my middle name if relatively conservative but it does have a story behind it.

  3. I am glad to hear your dad is recovering well. I hope you get more chances to see him soon! And tennis usually makes me happy too, but I’m getting a bit over playing at the moment. I’m happy when I have peace and quiet. When Mr 6 isn’t being a spoiled brat with the ‘tude of a teenager. When I get to have a sleep in. When I get my new Worx stools I’ve been ogling (got them yesterday!). 🙂

I’ve had a break from tennis over the last few years because I was over playing for a while there. It’s sweet to get back into it again – maybe a break is just what you need Aroha x

  4. The thing that makes me most happy is when bub comes up and hugs me for no reason what so ever and also snuggling together before her bed time when shes all sleepy. I love me some cuddles 🙂

Great list, mine would be similar…sitting out on my patio with a morning coffee, having wine with girlfriends, trying new food and loving it, anything that involves a big belly laugh! xx

  6. I love this Kirsty. My happy place would be getting into a conversation with one of my children, unexpectedly and they cannot stop talking. I

I know – usually it can be hard getting anything out of them can’t it? I love those unexpected conversations – they make my heart sing!

  7. Julie says:

I love a cup of tea and a biscuit at night. The little things make me happy. A new pillow or a new cup or just hanging with my kids.

A new pillow – I am hanging out for one of those myself! And the feel of freshly laundered sheets also makes me very happy…

  8. Yes I agree with almost everything on your list – bar the tennis and waking up early! I love cuddling up to the hubster in bed first thing in the morning, such a nice way to start the day.

    Puppy snuggles are the best!

There’s always more than one and so hard to pick just one to focus on for this post but for me, at the moment, it was a no brainer!

  11. I’m most happy when my kids are getting alone, I have some quiet time, my house is clean, my work is up to date and when I’ve done a bit of exercise, just starting to get back into that! xx

I’m suffering from a serious case of I Must Confess FOMO! I keep writing draft posts and can’t get online to post them! Sigh. Sad face. I love all your list of happy things. I’ll be very happy to get back to regular blogging again. xo
    Ness recently posted..YAY!

    • Kirsty says:

I love to see you regularly blogging again too but I get how hard it can be sometimes. Don’t be too hard on yourself – think of all those drafts that will be ready once you’re ready to get back into it again!
