Musical Musings A to Z: Songs beginning with R

Are you ready to rock?

We’ve come to R in our quest through the alphabet – woohoo. If you are keen to see how far we have come check out my previous musical musings.

Musical Musings

Unlike last week where I discovered there were not all that many songs starting with Q, this week I almost have the opposite problem – way too many songs to choose from. Some eliminated themselves as I have played them before here on the blog but there were still quite a few for me to choose from.

I finally settled on two of the best from two separate princes of pop – Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake.

Remember the Time – Michael Jackson

I remember this song and it’s accompanying video quite vividly as I was in high school when it was released. Another big production with amazing computer effects and big names in the cast (watch out for Eddie Murphy as the Pharoah). Being a pop girl I still love this tune to this day – it proudly resides on my favourites of my favourites list (yes there is such a thing!).

Rock Your Body – Justin Timberlake

This song really lives up to it’s name – it makes me want to rock my body whenever I hear it! It also has high rotation on my iPhone although it is now over 10 years old – can you believe that? And what can’t Justin Timberlake do? Dance, sing and make all sorts of other sounds to boot – I love the end where it’s just him – very clever.

There are my fave R songs for your listening pleasure – what would you add to the list?
