Musical Musings A to Z: Songs Beginning with E

Sorry for not being around last Sunday. I was still far from well after my URTI and found myself exhausted after Gilbert’s 10th birthday party.

All I could think afterwards was “how good are my kids?” Not that the party guests were bad but geez, 10 and 9 year old boys can be hard work. It gave me some much needed perspective on the behaviour of my own children, who, by comparison, are no trouble at all!

Music A to Z

Anyway, this week I am back and it’s time for E, the fifth letter of the alphabet. E for egg, elephant, emu, eight and electricity.

E is also for Emergency on Planet Earth by Jamiroquai, off their debut album of the same name. No real surprise in my choice there. But my second choice may be a surprise…

Emergency on Planet Earth – Jamiroquai

I love the funk. I love the bass. I love the strings. I love a very young Jay Kay. I guess you could say I LOVE this song!

Epic – Faith No More

This is truly an epic song. The driving staccato beat, the awesome guitar riffs, the lone piano at the end – it’s perfect rock.

So I’ll leave you with the eternal question – what songs would have you chosen for E?

Spread the positivity!

I love both of those two – the Bangles rock!

GREAT choices. Love this series. Eleanor Rigby is the only E song coming to mind at the minute. But I did just thinking of another F! (The First Cut is the Deepest – Sheryl Crow’s cover.)
