I Must Confess…Zero, Zilch, Zip

Thank goodness the holidays are finally here! I must confess I was struggling towards the end of term to keep up with everything. So I am more than relieved to have a few weeks breathing space now until the onslaught resumes.

I also must confess that I enjoyed wagging school with my kids last Friday. Despite still not feeling well after a bout of influenza, it was so much fun spending time with them without the stress of running around from activity to activity.

Today, I’m soaking up the serenity on a mini-break at the beach. It is exactly what we need as a family to re-energise after a very long term. Even if the weather is not ideal (as predicted) just being away from the endless responsibilities of home will be enough for me.

I’m also preparing to find out a little more about my brain meltdown later this week with my long-awaited appointment with the stroke clinic. I must confess I’m worried about having to revisit everything again but I am ready for some answers, although I know I may come out of there with more questions than ever!

Which brings me (in a long and winding way…) to this week’s prompt.

Why do some posts garner more comments than others? Why do some posts fail to attract any comments at all? We have looked at this before but I know I have quite a few posts that failed to receive any comment love the first time around so I wanted to revisit this phenomenon again.

So, link up a post that you are proud of that did not receive the attention it deserved the first time around. Comment on other unloved posts to spread the bloggy karma around and hopefully, when you return to your own blog, your once unloved post will have finally received it’s share of love and attention.

What are you waiting for? Link up, share the comment love and join in with the absolutely awesome community of confessors belonging to I Must Confess!

Believe me – everything is awesome (no need to thank me for the following earworm…)

The Rules…

I Must Confess

I actually read some books while I was away – it was glorious not feeling the pressure to do anything around the house for a few days so I could actually relax. It was awesome x

Thanks Janet! The break away was relaxing and the follow up appt was positive. Now I just need to have a good return to work again tomorrow and I’ll have the trifecta!

  3. I could so do with being at the beach right now, even with crappy weather, it beats being at home! I always find it funny the posts that get lots of comments and the ones that don’t. I just can’t pick it most of the time. 9 times out of 10 the posts I think is awesome and will get a great response doesn’t, and the posts I bang out in 5 minutes off the cuff are super popular. It’s crazy!

  4. Yes! Good luck with your appointments Kirsty. I think it depends when you post as to how many comments you get. Also if it’s bloggers reading it or friends could be a factor. My friends only really comment on Facebook.

Thanks Pinky. I think the timing of posts is important as well as whether you link up somewhere or not. But sometimes there is no rhyme or reason for whether a post gets lots of comments or none. One of the mysteries of the universe…

  5. Have been thinking about you and wondering when your next appointment was. Hoping you get some answers or at least some good news.

Thanks Raych. It was good to finally get a more certain answer. Just need to work on getting rid of the last remnants of my never-ending cold now…

Hope you get some answers this time!!
I sometimes write a post that I am sure is going to get some comments and attention and then they get nothing which disappoints… I know that’s not why I blog but it still feels good to get the comment love! I certainly do much better when I link up with wonderful bloggers like you than when I just post on a random day!

I’ve learned to post with linkups where I can for the very same reason Zita. I fear the mystery of commenting will never be clear to me, I’m afraid x

Thanks for this Kirsty, I don’t get much traffic on my new blog – because of it’s intended anonymity (which I’ve kinda blown right here).

You and Eva and your readers really are my bloggy-crack right now and God knows the doctors wont prescribe me anything. Girls gotta get a cheer-up somehow.

Happy to be your bloggy crack Suzy – it may not be quite as good as medication but we’re here to help where we can!
