Musical Musings A to Z: Songs Beginning with D

Woohoo, we’re up to D this week. I can’t believe we’ve been on this journey for four weeks already!

I hope you’re having as much fun with this countdown of sorts as I am. It’s been a REAL challenge this week to find some tunes I haven’t featured before but I have come up with two awesome tunes to share with you today!

Deeper and Deeper – Madonna

This is my all-time favourite Madonna song. I love the retro film-clip and the string accents in the bridge and chorus. The Spanish vibe in the middle and the harmonies are also gold. One of Madonna’s finest (in my humble opinion, anyway!)

Dynamite – Jamiroquai

Funky and cool – this song is all that and more. One of Jamiroquai’s lesser known hits, this song really represents how danceable and funky and earthy they can be…

As always, these are my choices and while I think they are great, everyone has their own opinion.

So tell me, what would you have included in your favourite songs starting with ‘D’?

Oooh, D is hard. Can I show my total uber uncoolness and suggest Dancin’ in the Street, the Sister Act version?! Whoopi channelling James Brown is just hilarious! Pearl Jam’s Daughter is another one that springs to mind, and Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now (I’m having such a good time, I’m having a ball… won’t get that out of my head all day!)
