Mending my blogging ways…

I have to apologise for being one of the slackest bloggers in the universe so far for 2014. One solitary post. And no details on my New Zealand holiday thus far. It really is unacceptable, isn’t it?

Life can really inconveniently get in the way sometimes…

Anyway, I am going to try to redeem myself this weekend, starting with attending my first ever bloggers event hosted by Kids Business. Tomorrow’s #bloggers_bbq will bring bloggers and brands together while (hopefully) having lots of fun at the same time.

BloggersBBQ

The list of brands is impressive and I’m looking forward to talking to all of them. To date I have not done a lot with brands but I’m interested in developing relationships with those that make a nice fit with the blog. We’ll have to wait and see what comes from tomorrow but I’m hoping to try a few new things on the blog in the future.

I’m also keen to meet some of the bloggers I have met online but not yet in real life. It’s rare to get that opportunity and while I had some cold feet about attending earlier in the week, I am so there for tomorrow now!

Matilda is coming along too and is also keen to experience her first blogging event – face-painting, balloon animals and colouring in are right up her alley. I’m just afraid I’m never going to get her away from the Nintendo stand – she LOVES her 3DS, Pokemon and all things gaming…

However, the weekend is not all about blogging. Saturday night sees us back home to attend a friend’s birthday party while Sunday sees my parents come down for a flying visit. My Dad is still on the road to full recovery but he and my Mum are keen to host Gilbert for a few nights so they are coming to pick him up and take him on one of his much loved holiday sleepovers.

And with Delilah back at daycare next week and Matilda having a sleepover with her other set of grandparents closer to home it’s going to be a bit quieter around these parts for a few days. After more than a month in close quarters I think we are ALL ready for a bit of a break from each other…

I’m not exactly sure when I’ll get the chance to blog in between all of that but I’ll do my best to rectify the error of my blogging ways. I promise.

But with life in the way and ready to be lived, I can’t make any promises 🙂
