I Must Confess…Pride of my Posts

I must confess that I am not proud of every post I write. Some of them are put together quickly, others are written when inspiration is lacking and some are simply not my best work.

I am most proud of those posts that I spend quality time crafting. Those posts that tell a compelling story. Posts that help others in some way. They are definitely the ones of which I am most proud.

At the moment I am lacking time to write the posts that matter. I have to admit that I haven’t written  a post that I’ve been really proud of in some time now.

For instance, I can’t remember the last time I wrote a special needs post although there are many and varied ideas floating through my brain. It’s not for lack of caring, it’s more a case of lack of time to undertake the research and thought process that accompanies that kind of writing.

But, I am confident that I will again find the time, the opportunity and the inspiration to write the posts that matter. I am, after all, an eternal optimist!

Do you have a post of which you are proud? Link it up for some well-deserved comment love!

Or, if you have a confession of your own to share, join in for a bit of fun and to feel a little lighter and brighter.

It works. Trust me.

  1. I hear you on the getting the time to write it out – I have so many in my head but finding the time to get them all out is tricky…not sure why my link is there twice, and I don’t know how to delete it – sorry about that! Have fun at the reunion.

  2. I think I’m much the same and I’m looking forward to finding more time to get back to the business of blogging and writing posts I can be proud of.

I find that to write a really good post generally takes me a whole day… what with interruptions and all. Sometimes two. But in the 3-4 years that I’ve been blogging, I’ve found that my writing has improved a lot so that is hopeful. Right now, I am so time poor but I am looking forward to getting the creative writing flowing again after my wedding (2 weeks!)

  4. The posts I’m really proud of often don’t get anywhere near the views and/or comment love I think they deserve! For example, a couple of weeks ago I posted this http://redlandcityliving.com/how-to-buy-new-clothes-when-hubby-thinks-you-already-have-plenty/ and thought it was pretty cool, but alas it’s disappeared into the blogosphere already!

I hear you about the writing of posts that we feel lack inspiration, I love your posts Kirsty whether you feel they are inspired or not xxx

Stop it. Seriously. You have written many many posts that you should be proud of. I love visiting here Kirsty as there’s always something for everyone. There’s music, there’s humour, there’s honesty and there’s the thing that I appreciate when I’m having a ‘bad hair day’ – perspective! Don’t be too hard on yourself.

Oh yes one other thing I love – your ‘I must confess’ prompts – they are great for a lazy blogger like me!

  7. I can sooo relate to this! Years as a journo have given me the ability to smash out a post/article in half an hour, writer’s block be damned, but I’m only really happy with about 1/3 of what I write, and truly proud of even fewer pieces. I’m still working on finding the balance between writing because I have something to say, and writing just for the sake of writing something.
