Musical Musings A to Z: R is for Robbie Williams

It’s Sunday, so time for some more music on the blog. I’ve been spending the last few months travelling through the alphabet, featuring some of my favourite artists along the way.

Today I get to share one of my all-time favourites – Robbie Williams.

Why do I love Robbie? I think it’s a mixture of his bad-boy ways, his cheekiness, his honesty and the richness of his songs. He also happens to have a great voice and is pretty okay on the eye as well!

I have to admit, I was a fan of his Take That days and followed his career when he left to become a solo artist. And I’ve pretty much loved most of what he’s produced along the way.

I’ve tried to narrow down some of my choices today, but it’s been a hard task. But here are my absolute favourites for your listening pleasure…

Rock DJ

I love the danceability of this song and the video clip too – really shows his sense of humour and daring!

By All Means Necessary

I love this song from my favourite album “Sing When You’re Winning”. It is a slower number but I really love the beat that runs through it and the strings that lift it up from the subject matter. The middle is my favourite part – it has a cool retro vibe that I can’t help tapping my foot to.

I have featured this song before and I still count it as one of my all-time faves. The beat is funky, the melody is smooth and it has a dancy/loungy vibe. It’s definitely one of those songs that I will repeat over and over again when it comes up on my iPhone.

What would you have chosen for your R artist? I could have also featured the mighty Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kelly Rowland and Simply Red – there are so many amazing R artists out there!

I hope you can come back again and join in with the fun as I speed towards the end of my alphabet quest – it should be an interesting ride!

Spread the positivity!

  1. How come, in the last paragraph of your post you gave away what next weeks choice for “S” would be?

I don’t know if it will be my choice for S (I actually added that in as an R artist not even thinking that it could be next week’s S artist). You’ll just have to wait and see…
