Musical Musings A to Z: M is for Moloko

Is it truly Sunday already? And June too? Wow, time is spinning by and literally leaving me feeling disoriented and giddy – are you feeling the same, or is it just me?

If you have missed some of my earlier Musical Musings posts, check out some of them below – who knows what you might enjoy?

A is for Rick Astley

B is for Ben Folds Five

C is for Cake

D is for Doobie Brothers

E is for En Vogue and Eternal

F is for Aretha Franklin

G is for Garbage

H is for Hall & Oates

I is for INXS

J is for Michael Jackson

K is for Lenny Kravitz

L is for Lisa Stansfield

Which brings us to M for Moloko, a UK dance/electronic/alternative duo who came to prominence in the late 90’s with some coverage on Triple J.

I have included their two biggest hits today, “Sing it Back” and “The Time is Now” as they are among my all-time favourite songs. The songs are very different. The first is a catchy dance number while the second is more instrumental, with soaring strings and haunting piano.

What would you have picked as your M artist?

Hope you can join me next time as I continue along my musical odyssey through the alphabet!
