I Must Confess…Revisiting My Bad Habits

Welcome to the weekly I Must Confess linkup!

Every Monday I encourage us all to get stuff off our chests and make our confessions. To make it a little less ‘scary’ I also set a weekly prompt which you can choose to use if you are stumped or reluctant to make an individual confession of your own. It’s a little bit of fun and really not that intimidating so feel free to join in and share a little bit of yourself with like-minded confessors like me!

This week we are asked to share our bad habits. We all have them. Some may not be as utterly annoying or embarrassing as others, but if we are truly honest with ourselves we’d be able to come up with at least one habit that we would secretly like to change.

This is not the first time I have confessed to my bad habits and sadly, I still have the same bad habits, nearly 2 years on – so much for working on them and getting better!

I am linking up my original post today (a vlog, no less!) but if you are not able to view it, my three bad habits are:

1. Biting my nails – my nails are particularly bad at the moment, even worse than they were back then…

2013-06-23 20.50.29

2. Looking away when speaking – I’m getting better at this one but I will still look away sometimes to gather my thoughts. It’s not that I’m disinterested, truly, it’s just I find it easier to look away sometimes during a conversation.

3. Interrupting others – I don’t do this all the time but sometimes it’s hard to wait for people to finish – I do get a little bit excited at times. Just like a little bear that I know who is also known for interrupting…I obviously have a lot to answer for!

So what bad habits do you need to own up to? Or do you have something else to get off your chest? Either way, you’ve come to the right place!

And, before you go, I’d welcome any prompts for future weeks. I’d love to know what you would love to cover as a topic on I Must Confess. Get your thinking caps on and leave your ideas in a comment below!

I don’t bite my nails but I also find it difficult to look at people when I talk to them and I do interrupt – mainly because I don’t want to forget what I want to add. I am working really hard on this one because I annoys A so much – sometimes I get it right – sometimes I don’t !
Have the best day and thank you for the linky !

I generally don’t look at people when they are talking. It is more of a confidence issue for me. One that I am slowly working.

  6. Janet says:

I didn’t stick to topic this week because I don’t have any bad habits!!!! ROFLMAO – and if you believe that, you also believe in Santa Claus, the tooth fairy etc 🙂

My worst habit – I am a real wiggly fidget in bed, seriously, I must drive my hubster nuts!

I’ve also been known to be a bit bossy – in my defense, I’m the eldest of 4 kids so it goes with the territory!

  7. Mystery Case says:

Gosh I’m rather late to the party, I blame the time difference here in Perth and the fact I’ve had a child with croup and no sleep for the last few nights.

I cheated on this one and had Mr C come in from the bench. After 20 years, he knows my bad habits(which have grown on him)better than anyone else.

Will have to put my thinking cap on (after I’ve caught up on sleep) as far as future prompts go. Rx

One of my sons (and to a lesser degree, my husband) is a nail biter! I have to try very hard not to interrupt people…my brain is constantly racing and sometimes I just jump in. More conscious of it these days though 🙂

  9. I tend to look away when I’m talking too – like you, to collect my thoughts. Always feel silly when I see the person I’m talking to start to follow my gaze … at nothing! 🙂

  10. Ok I will come clean…I am forever tugging at my hair looking for loose hairs! My hair is on the fall out phase following bubba. I spent Sunday night cleaning the rotating bar on my vacuum cleaner as it was full of the product of my habit!
Ewww! Sorry but you clearly wanted to know!
Vacuum works like new again so I am pretty pleased! 🙂

I’m queen of interrupting others as well. Just crazy. I think it’s because I have so much to say that I want to get it all out before the other person does. Ah…nevermind. Oh…Kristy..long nails are way over-rated!!! Great post and thanks for my suggestion for next week 🙂

  12. Rhianna says:

I guess one of my bad habits is being a bit of a motor mouth at times. When I get a little nervous rather than sit quietly I start to go on and on and on and on. I doubt you would get to interrupt me 😉

Fairy wishes and butterfly kisses for a wonderful day lovely Kirsty, I went and watched your vlog and you are such a sweety xx

  13. I’m totally with you on nails, except I pick mine off when they crack! I can sometimes interrupt but trying SO hard not to. And apologise if I do. I have a habit of not doing my washing/house cleaning/cooking until I REALLY have to – happy weekend K x

  14. Oh yes, I am very guilty of interrupting as well! Like you, I just get too excited, my thoughts are tripping over each other to get out 😉

We share the same bad habits, my nails are shocking, I am totally unco at talking to people, but oddly enough suck at not interrupting people who are good at talking. 🙂

I never got the appeal with nail biting. But I have so many friends who chew theirs right off!
Hmm…bad habits…Mr Surfer would say putting a wet towel on the bed and not putting the dishes in the dishwasher. Drives him bonkers! Heh.
