Pinterest Fails

I’ve been feeling slightly stressed about Gilbert’s upcoming party. He has great expectations and I’m not really known for delivering when it comes to party planning. I’m certainly feeling the pressure right now…

Anyway, in desperate need of a laugh and to feel better about my upcoming ordeal, I decided to check out the many failures documented on Pinterest. And wasn’t it worth it!

Pinterest Fails -

I nearly wet myself laughing at some of them and I have to confess that I haven’t had a good laugh like that in a long time. It did make me feel a little better about my own substandard efforts – at the very least I had the good sense not to document them for the world to see!

So enjoy the many Pinterest fails below – I’ve saved the best for last…

Pinterest Fail #1 – Chocolate Cookie Cake

You would think it wouldn’t be too difficult to put some chocolate cream between two layers of cake but you would be wrong…

Chocolate cake fail

Pinterest Fail #2 – Snail Eclair

I love just how utterly terrible this is. Like they didn’t even bother putting it on a plate FFS…

Eclair snail fail

Pinterest Fail #3 – Baked cheese balls

Classic Pinterest rookie mistake. It looks so easy, it’s gotta be worth a try, right? SO WRONG.

Pinterest Fail #4 – Recycled Easter Bunny Surprise

Points for effort here. However Pinterest doesn’t really reward effort. Except if you are wanting to end up with a titanic Pinterest fail…

Easter craft fail

Pinterest Fail #5 – Delicate baked flowers

It was such a great idea…pity about the execution here.

Muffin tin fails

Pinterest Fail #6 – Waffle Iron Cookies

I really do feel sorry for whomever was tasked with cleaning up the waffle iron after this mega balls-up. Personally I would just throw it out…

Pinterest Fail #7 – Bottle Bottom Flowers

Again, this seems to be such a simple idea. It’s curious though, how all the simple ideas can end up as such spectacular fails.

Paint flower fail

Pinterest Fail #8 – Caterpillar Cupcakes

Isn’t this sweet? Pity the poor attempt underneath could give your children nightmares for the foreseeable future!

Pinterest Fail #9 – Train Cake

I can’t even be sure that the person even tried to replicate this properly. If they did they have probably exceeded even my own very sub-standard culinary skills…

And, my personal favourite:

Pinterest Fail #10 – SpongeBob Squarepants Cake

I seriously have no words.

I just love that people obviously have no shame in putting their failures out there – I confess to a good many things but I don’t think I could ever go that far!

  3. Cathy says:

I can so see myself creating some of these fails! Pinterest has to be the biggest tease…makes everyone think they can do anything, when in actual fact, they can’t. They just can’t lol.

We are doing a Lego Ninjago party but we are not going to go overboard. I’m ordering the cake (I know my limits!) and I’m going to keep the Pinterest inspiration to a realistic level – hopefully there will no more Pinterest fail fodder from me!

OMG that is piss your pants funny!! Of all the stuff that’s oooohable and ahhhhhable on Pinterest there’s no way I’d try any of them – I know my limitations!! LOL

I just don’t try anymore Janet. There is a very good reason while I’m ordering my son’s cake rather than trying to make and decorate it myself 😉

  9. Rachel says:

LOL hilarious! I’m usually pretty good with cakes but anything “crafty” I attempt always ends up looking like the worst kind of crap.

I think this shows the importance of knowing your limitations – I am no good at any of it so I choose to outsource rather than make a fool of myself!!!

HAHA this is priceless! So true!! Never turns out the way the picture looks.

  11. I am still giggling, some of those are just priceless. I am usually on pinterest look for glorious goodies not fabulous fails, but I might have to re-think that occassionally. 🙂

I often look at the pinterest fails too!! I love and hate pinterest for that reason, everything is so inspiring, but it makes your own hand made stuff look like crap! x Karen

Exactly Karen! I don’t often go on Pinterest myself for that very reason but I could not go past these examples of failure. They seriously make all my sub-standard efforts look quite good!

  22. Rita says:

Hahaha! This is so funny! I read somewhere that Pinterest should come with a notice “things are more difficult to make than it seems”. So true!

    • Kirsty says:

It most definitely should have a disclaimer – that might save a lot of people from intense disappointment!

  23. Ok, this is mean but do they even try? I mean really, some of those are pretty simple!
