I Must Confess…yes, I am still totally awesome!

And here we are again. It’s Monday and instead of complaining about today marking the start of the working week, let’s have some fun and share why we are indeed all so very awesome!

Before we get onto the business of confessing, I wanted to return to my revelation of last week, where I shared that I am a bit of a Lizzie Bennet Diaries fangirl. I now know that I am TOTALLY a fangirl as I have been obsessed with the latest episode for days now (the one where Lizzie and Darcy get together – squee!) AND I am going to take part in my first ever Kickstarter campaign to get their DVD and new series off the ground. It must be love if I’m prepared to part with money to further their future work!

Anyway, I wanted to bring some positivity to the blog today as I’ve been feeling a little flat lately. What better way to make us all feel a little more positive than for us to concentrate on our own positives and confess why we are all so very awesome?

I have written a post on my awesomeness before, coincidentally in a similar time of stress and strain. At the moment I am feeling pummelled by the demands of work, smothered by the strain of making decisions about the house build, stressed out by the anxieties of my kids and just plain overwhelmed by the current pace of my life.

So, at times like these, when I start to question my decisions and double guess my motives, it definitely helps to stop the negative self-talk by remembering all the things I am actually good at. To appreciate that I am actually awesome (even if only in my own mind!)

Here goes – I hope this same process can help you all out as well!

I am awesome…because I am resilient. I have been thrown some curve balls over the years but I keep bouncing back. I am determined that nothing will beat me and I will never give up on anything. I am stubborn like that…

I am awesome…because I am always looking forward. I try not to dwell on the negatives, preferring to concentrate on the positives. I believe that life has to get better and that you cannot lose hope. If you don’t have hope, what do you have?

I am awesome…because I have a good heart. I’m a big softy and I find it hard to be mean or rude to anyone. I believe that people are innately good and treating others with respect has never steered me wrong yet. The one Christian tenet that I fully embrace is “do unto others what you would have done unto you”. I truly live my life by this motto. It has definitely made me a better person.

Now you know how truly awesome I am, I would love to know why YOU are awesome. Or, if you are not quite comfortable enough to put yourself out there, I would love to hear a big juicy confession instead. No pressure or anything!

By now, you should know what to do – make your confession, link up and cleanse your soul!

  1. Almost on topic, I think! Next week’s devices could make for an epic post, a mini series perhaps. Have a great week and thanks for your help this week, when you obviously have a lot on yourself! x

Anytime Raychael! And my post for next week is going to be huge as well. Gilbert got a device of his own for his birthday too so that’s another one to add to an already long list….this is going to look bad…. 😉

  3. Oh dear, what have you started. Instead of going to bed I started watching Lizzie Bennet, up to episode 30 now at 5.20 am. Going to try for a couple of hours sleep before I need to start the day.

Oops…have you caught up yet? The last episode was released today and I was a little sad as I have LOVED this for nearly a year now but they are going to make an adaption of Jane Austen’s incomplete novel “Sanditon” soon, followed by another full-blown adaption of another classic (yet to be revealed). Once you’ve got through all the LBD videos let me know so we can compare notes – I’m dying to discuss them with someone who “gets” it!!!!

      • Ready when you are to compare notes! I’m might need to brush up on my Jane Austen and Sanditon.

I wonder if Little Women might be on their agenda?

There have been many theories about their new project – Emma, Persuasion, Anne of Green Gable and Jane Eyre have all been suggested as well…I’m very intrigued! I don’t know if I’ve ever read Sanditon, I will have to brush up on that as well!

You are totally awesome, Kirsty! Resilience and positivity are such great qualities.

Apologies for my post being a tad depressing. I am starting to realise that I am fucking awesome though.

I am loving reading about everybody’s awesomeness! I chickened out this week on joining that particular theme, but have found myself nodding in agreement with a lot of the things others have posted – including yours – you go girl!

Thanks Janet. It can be confronting to “big note” yourself but awesomeness comes in so many forms and you have it in spades! Love that you keep coming back to the linkup – that means a great deal to me!

Thanks Lisa! And thanks for being such a great supporter of the linkup, I love your posts each week – they truly make my day!

  7. You are a sweet soul Kirsty and I also try to treat others as I want to be treated, which is another reason why I think I’m about to let some ‘friends’ go, people that don’t treat me the way they should. Love this post and sorry that you’ve had a tough trot the past few weeks! I’ve been crazy busy myself, hence my haphazard linking up. Em x

Thanks Em – I can tell that you have been as busy, if not more so, than I have been. I really hope things settle down soon, I’m just glad that I was able to have this last week off work – otherwise I think I would have been in a lunatic asylum by now… 😉

  8. Rhianna says:

You are totally awesome lovely, there is no doubt about it. As in fact we all are, just some times it is harder than others to see. Fairy wishes and butterfly kisses for a wonderful week, I hope it is a great one for you.

Thanks Rhi! It has been a huge week with excursions and birthdays and Easter but I’m soaking up a bit of down time now – hoping that puts me in good stead when I return to work next week – boo… 🙁

You really are awesome. I so admire your resilience and positivity. And thank you so much for your lovely comment on Facebook the other day. It really gave me a boost after having a crap day ( the one year anniversary of my MIL passing from breast cancer and the death of Rebecca Wilson..) But you’re so right. We have to look forward.

  12. Oh I agree, you ARE awesome. Every.Single.Day. Thanks for sharing and reminding us all to look for the good within. Loved that you found the post and linked up on a very busy back to school Monday. Denyse xx

  13. Having followed your blog for many years, and met you IRL, I would definitely agree with all three xxx
