The Week That Was…

It’s been a huge week in many ways and I wanted to take a breath and look back on the week that was…

On the Blog

For my regular Sunday Musical Musings post I shared some of my favourite songs about confessions, to celebrate the return of I Must Confess in musical style.

On Monday I finally resurrected I Must Confess as a weekly linkup. Many thanks toΒ A Parenting Life, Being Gawee and Robomum for linking up and making it a successful return – I really appreciate your support guys.

BTW the linkup is still live so if you want to link up, go right ahead, otherwise I will have a fresh confession and linkup ready for Monday – I hope you can join me there.

Tuesday dawned and I decided to give my secret santa (as well as my husband) some ideas for christmas gifts for the upcoming festive season. I also gave myself a shock when I realised how very close christmas really is…I am SO not prepared.

And Wednesday saw me laughing at the debacle that was Click Frenzy and marvel at how clever and quick social media tweeps truly are. If you haven’t checked this out yet, you should – it’s gold!

In Real Life

We have made some progress on our house – yay! We have reviewed our plans and the builder is updating them as we speak, ready for the next big step – signing the building contract. We also expect registration of the land to occur before christmas so fingers crossed we’ll be in a position to start building in the first half of next year.

I have hit a purple patch of luck and have actually won 3 competitions in the last couple of weeks. Many thanks to Becc from Take Charge Now, Lou from Mum Speak and Smarty Pants Kids and Denyse from Denyse Whelan Life Stories for running these fantastic giveaways and for picking me – you have made me so happy!

While we’re on the subject of giveaways I currently have one of my own. I’m giving away 4 tickets for your family to see Disney Live! Mickey’s Rockin’ Road Show at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre in January. If you are a Novocastrian or you will be in the vicinity in January, why not enter for your chance to win?

Gilbert, Matilda and I went to the Variety Club Christmas Party on Wednesday night. Many thanks to all the volunteers and the organisations involved in this fantastic night. It proved too much for Gilbert in the end but I’m still glad we went, despite the meltdowns and difficulty sleeping that followed.

And today, I am looking forward to a long-overdue catch-up with friends, as well as the chance to finally start some christmas shopping – better late than never, right? Heads up too, to my allocated secret santa, I’m shopping for you as well – I hope you’ve given me enough clues to put together an awesome gift package for you!

So that’s a quick snapshot into my world – how has your week treated you?

Flogging with Grace, flashing with Bree and joining in with the re-booted Things I Know with Miss Cinders.

(I’m obviously taking my cue this week from Rhianna and embracing the cheeky multiple link up…thanks for the tip Rhi!)

Aroha, I was pretty surprised to win one of them, let alone three. I am not generally considered to be a lucky person so it’s been a nice change to have a little bit of luck run my way – let’s hope for a little more before it all runs out!

Sometimes I wish I was as clever as some people in social media land – I was just blown away by how quickly all these things emerged as the debacle unfolded on Tuesday night.

Let’s hope we get a little more progress on the house prior to christmas. I would love for the land to be registered and for our plans to be lodged with council by then – we’ll have to see whether that’s possible or not…

  4. I’m on limited internet atm, using my phone as a hotspot so can’t check out all your links!

But my goodness you have been busy!!

Congrats on your giveaway wins! They do give you a perk up don’t they πŸ™‚

Awesome – and exciting – news about the house! Have you got butterflies yet?

I must remember to come confess something for your linky, tis been a while since I linked up!

Thanks for linking up to Things I Know.

I must say, I didn’t realise how busy I had been until I wrote it all down – and it’s not even December yet! Congrats on bringing back Things I Know, I hope it proves to be a more positive linkup for you.

And I would love to have you linkup one Monday too – see how you go, I’ll be here regardless!

That video was hilarious!! it was so funny watching the chaos unravel.

Too bad it crashed, I really wanted to save 75cents on a bottle of shampoo!

Great news about your house plans. Everything takes SO long doesn’t it! We started in May, and just today got our final bill (gasp) from council for plans getting approved and all of the extra stuff (that I had no idea about). The build will start in January.

    • Kirsty says:

Hahaha – the video was gold, I’m still in awe that someone was able to put it together so quickly…

The house stuff takes SO long – I really had no idea. Good luck with your build, I will follow your journey with interest Sophie!

  6. Grace says:

Oh, that video is priceless! Wasn’t Click Frenzy a complete shamozal ? How could they have not prepared themselves with proper capacity ? I didn’t bother even trying, although I did register. They now have my details and I’ll probably get bombarded with useless crap in my inbox. Great.

My weeks roll so much into one after the other after the other. I’m not sure I could pinpoint highlights. Gee, sounds boring! I need to spice it up a bit. A confession or two, maybe?! Ha, ha!

The whole Click Frenzy event made me laugh, for all the wrong reasons, but that film is a classic. Thanks for hosting all the flashing Bree! πŸ˜‰

  9. Lol I love that you are jumping on the multi linky band wagon πŸ™‚ Thanks for the links, made my night, though I also felt a little bad for not stopping in sooner. You know how it is though. Fairy wishes and butterfly kisses lovely hope this week is going great guns as well

Hooray for some progress on your house – a big yay!
Winners are grinners, though people don’t seem to be as keen to enter the comps lately.
    I won some 3M dots !
Trish recently posted..Have I told you lately – Things I know

    • Kirsty says:

I often forget to enter comps or are put off by some of the hoops you sometimes have to jump through. Lately I have entered more and have therefore won more – it’s all in the stats and the averages, isn’t it? Yay for 3M dots, I could use those in this rental house, the walls are bare but I don’t want to hang anything in case I damage it. I will need every dollar back of that bond when it finally comes time to move to the new place…!
