A Sprinkling of Thankfuls

It’s funny, really.

Last night I was all set to write a thankful post.

But we had a short blackout and then the words didn’t come as they usually do and I suddenly realised I was mentally and physically exhausted.

It was all too hard. So I wrote nothing at all, watched some mind-numbing TV and eventually crawled into bed.

Today is a new day. Today there are so many little things I am thankful for and I want to celebrate them and sprinkle them like confetti across the blog.

I am thankful that I get to spend a rare day with my husband tomorrow. We do have things to do but it will be nice to run the errands together and enjoy each other’s company at the same time.

I am thankful that my kids are doing well at school. They have both received awards this week, for confidence and for organisation – not bad at all!

I am thankful that we have the opportunity to have input into their Personal Learning Plans (PLP) for next year. I appreciate having the time to discuss their needs with the principal, their respective teachers and with learning support staff. Fingers crossed we can get a positive result, despite the funding constraints we face next year.

I am thankful that my son has taken to his new speech therapists and is looking forward to going back there next week. I am grateful they came up with the idea to film him and his group-mates making a movie –  he cannot wait to see the finished product!

I am thankful that I’ve now lost exactly 10kg since July. I feel like a new person and the pile of “too big” clothes is growing. Pity my bank account is not growing in the same manner, I could do with a good old shopping spree for new clothes right now…

I am thankful that Barack Obama was re-elected as President of the United States.

I am thankful that I’ve been given the chance to giveaway tickets to Disney Live! Mickey’s Rockin’ Road Trip in Newcastle in January. I really hope I have the opportunity to offer more giveaways to my readers in future too!

I am thankful that we have the plans for our house. I am looking forward to making some choices about how we are going to live and, most importantly, how it’s all going to look!

Even though I have no one big thing to be thankful for this week , it’s not hard to look a little deeper and recognise all the little things that are making a difference to my life right now.

These thankfuls really remind me of confetti, floating about me, pretty and sparkling and spreading light wherever they go.

Such a beautiful list of thanksgiving! Life becomes so much more alive when I look a bit deeper to the blessings I have. It has created in me a joy of my daily blessings–even if they are tucked inbetween a broken washer or a lost bankcard.

That is so true Pamela. I like looking for the positives and counting my blessings rather than dwelling on the negatives – life is so much more rewarding and fun that way!

Thanks Bree. I find it helps to step back sometimes to appreciate all the little things that do make life good – sometimes you can’t see them for all the stress and strain and busyness of life!
