I Need a Holiday After the Week I’ve Had!
Lucky for me I am now on holidays which is exactly what I need after the week I’ve had…
It all started last Saturday when we bought our very own block of land. It’s in a location we have long coveted and has bush views that will never be built out. We even got to put the SOLD sticker on the lot sign, which was surprisingly a very emotional moment.
Delilah had her own moment when she realised mud was caked all over her Dorothy the Dinosaur shoes (she was devastated for her “si-soar” shoes!) and we marked our turf for the very first time with mud – yes, we are classy like that…
So now we just need to select a house, obtain some finance and survive the building process. I’m sure you’ll get all the excruciating details as we dive into this process for the first time. But I must say I am so freaking excited right now!
After the excitement of buying our land we then set out on a mini-break with family down the NSW south coast, where we managed to get lost in Sydney on the way. After years of dissing sat-nav devices in cars I am now about to cave and finally get one myself – I never want to feel so helpless and lost ever again!
Despite this unexpected “adventure” we did eventually arrive and had a fabulous time. We played ball games with the family, walked around to the beach, played on the park jumping pillow and play equipment and shared some rare quality time together. Hopefully we’ll do it all again next year!
After our blissful mini-escape I needed to head back to work (boo) and worked a couple of long days to get some outstanding tasks completed before my real break began. It was full-on but receiving my formal letter of offer for my promotion definitely helped me through it!
The coming week already looks packed with playdates, visits and activities with the kids planned. Not to forget the much needed house cleaning and tidying that is crying out to be done. No doubt, I will need yet another break to recover from this one!
Do you find you need a holiday following a holiday too, or is it just me?
