Sunday Session – Jamiroquai
It’s been a while since I’ve joined in with the Sunday Session but I’m ready to groove today!
I’m actually surprised it has taken me this long to devote an entire session to Jamiroquai, my absolute favourite band in the universe.
But that’s what you’re getting today.
It’s been a big call picking out some of my favourites to share with you today – they have released 8 albums since 1993, gone through a revolving door of band members and have had a go at nearly every genre out there.
But I have picked my 4 favourites right now. And I look forward to featuring some of the best of their different eras for you in future posts.
Two Completely Different Things
This came from their latest offering Rock Dust Light Star and harks back to some of their earlier stuff from their Acid Jazz days – I could listen to this song over and over and over again!
This comes from their third album Travelling Without Moving and gives me goosebumps whenever I hear it. The bass on this album in particular is tremendous and the bass on this song also manages a sultry tone that fits the song perfectly.
Where Do We Go From Here?
This is such a funky song with rocking bass taken from their fourth album Synkronized. This is lots of fun and shows just how diverse their sound can be.
For me this is the best track from album number 6, Dynamite – I love it!
So that’s my list of my favourite Jamiroquai songs right now – I’ll bring Jay Kay and his revolving band back from time to time to showcase more of their awesomeness!
Linking up with Jade at Oh, Antipodes for the Sunday Session – enjoy your Sunday everyone!
