Sunday Session – Rapper Edition
It’s Sunday so time to join in again with Thea over at Do I Really Wanna Blog? for her Sunday Session.
I love me some rappers. While I have to wonder about some of the lyrics and the subject matter, I love the rhythm, beat, and pounding bass of many raps songs.
I have included a few of my favourites this week after a conversation I had with my 12 year old nephew. He was telling Matilda about this cool song called “Boom Shake the Room” and how it was by DJ Jazzy Jeff (he forgot about the Fresh Prince!).
Now this song is close to my heart as it was released during my last year of high school and I have always had a soft spot for Will Smith (I love most of his later songs too, as well as his films, especially Independence Day – sad, I know!)
Coolio is up next with “1-2-3-4” which I used to dance to in nightclubs many moons ago – oh, the memories…
Nelly’s “Hot in Herre” is an absolute fav – makes me want to get up and dance every time (although I haven’t actually been hot enough yet to take off all my clothes…)
Last, but not least, I have to include Kanye West. Yes, he is a tool, but he can make music. I’ve included “Gold Digger” here as it also includes Jamie Foxx who is also ridiculously talented…
Enjoy your Sunday everybody!
