Things I Know I Want for Christmas

I’ve been thinking A LOT about what I want for christmas. Members of my family have been asking me what I’d like and, to be honest, I haven’t really been able to give them an answer. It’s not something I think about all the time.

I mean, there are things I would LOVE, but they’re not really gift material (like winning the lotto or a new car or magically having our house extension completed or ensuring my kids are happy all their days) you know, simple things like that?

So, I have put my thinking cap on and I have come up with a bit more of a realistic list for christmas – well, some things are still not going to happen but they are a bit more closer to the mark than my big dreams!

1. Castle Series 1-3 on DVD

I have loved Castle pretty much since it started on Channel 7 a few years back. It is my absolute favourite show – it is funny, romantic and witty and has a murder to solve every week, as well as the ongoing mystery of the death of Kate Beckett’s mother. I saw a boxed set of Castle at JB-HiFi the other day for under $100 which I think is a great deal so this would make an awesome christmas gift, for me, anyway!

2. Pandora Charm Bracelet

It was love at first sight when I first saw this thing of beauty. Although they have been around for a few years I would still be pretty damn excited if one of the gifts under the tree for me turned out to be one of these lovelies!

My precious...

3. Tickets to the Australian Open 2012

I went to the Australian Open in Melbourne earlier this year and had a ball. Each year I go down to Sydney for the Apia International in the week before the Australian Open (and I’m heading there again in January!) but I would love to head back to Melbourne for a weekend of culture and tennis. And if my husband wanted to accompany me for a weekend away sans kids that would be even better!

Where I'd love to be this coming January...

4. Watch

I can’t remember how long I have been without a watch for now – a couple of years, at least. I would like to get a decent one but I really haven’t seen one that has taken my fancy – so maybe it would be best for me just to get one and be done with it? I know it would stop my incessant checking of my mobile phone in order to determine the time…

This would do me....

5. Gift Cards

This is what I will end up with but at least I will have the chance to a) have some time out to myself when shopping and b) have the chance to buy stuff that I really like. Top of my list this year will be updating my wardrobe (it needs some serious work) and adding some accessories (I do not own a belt nor much jewellery). I do need to look okay for DPCON12 now, don’t I?

I LOVE gift cards!

Yay, I know what I want for christmas (and now you do too!). Linking with Shae from Yay for Home for Things I Know – go on and check out what everyone else knows this week!

I just read your list – very nice – let’s hope we get at least one thing off them, now that they are out there for all to see!!!

I’ve already decided that if the Castle set is not forthcoming for any reason that any money/gift cards received will be used to buy it! Can’t wait for Channel 7 to finally air Season 4 – haven’t been able to go near any forums since September so i don’t find out anything…instead I’m living off Sunday night re-runs!

Castle is fab! I’ll watch almost anything with Nathan Fillion in it though 😛

My in-laws bought me a Pandora bracelet for Christmas a couple of years ago. Now my kids buy a charm every birthday/mother’s day – I love it, it’s become something of a tradition.

Hope you get to open something really cool from your list this year.

I’m a Nathan Fillion fan too – hadn’t watched any of his earlier stuff prior to Castle but my husband introduced me to some of his earlier sci-fi stuff and I’m now a fan of that too!

I like the charm aspect of the Pandora bracelet, that is definitely one of the reasons I covet it (as well as it’s obvious prettiness!)

I’ll be happy with whatever I receive – I truly do believe it is the thought that counts!

I have been meaning to do a list like this for ages but keep forgetting, have to let the hubby know somehow…I love the Panadora bracelet.

Well, it obviously works – my husband has actually commented here for the first time in response to this post. Having said that, I may still not get anything off my list though…but it’s worth a try!

  5. Nathan says:

Oh really. A list on a blog. So, if you get none of these things, am I to expect a public shaming? And I was just going to get you a Bunnings gift voucher. 😛

My dear husband, nice to finally hear from you here on the blog!

No public shamings here…but you now know what I would like, it’s up to you how you choose to use that information…
