I Must Confess…Dodgy Music Lives on my iPod

Well, hello everyone, welcome to another week of the homemade confessional that is, I Must Confess!

Last week, I confessed that I had no idea what I was doing with this linkup (and, to be honest, that hasn’t really changed!) but I’m back for another go and I hope you’ll join me in getting it all off your chest.

This week, I feel the need to confess some of the questionable music that is currently on my iPod. And, in the spirit of making a full confession, these songs just aren’t on there as filler, they are actually contained in my favourites playlist…which makes it all so very worse!

Check out my latest vlog to hear the confession in full…meanwhile, here are some YouTube clips to introduce you (or remind you) of the dodgy tunes in question!

Five’s “If Ya Gettin’ Down” – some of the worst lyrics in the history of pop, a male group member who eerily looks like Ellen DeGeneres and fire shooting out from nowhere. Yet, this song, sadly, does get me down on the dancefloor…

Take That with “Lady Tonight”. There is no video clip as such (that’s how good this song is, it was never even released as a single!) but the montage of stills of the members of Take That, including a very, very young Robbie Williams, is worth a viewing. The song is crap, but again, I like it…you see, I really wasn’t lying when I confessed to having a dodgy taste in music!

Moving on, we reach Jeremy Jordan with “The Right Kind of Love”. Yes, the video clip is pure 90’s – white T shirts, coordinated dancing, a girl holding a random clock(?)…but, sadly, this song makes my toes tap every time I hear it…

To bring our joint misery to an end, the final song I am going to confess to having on the favourites list of my iPod is Jimmy Nail’s “Ain’t No Doubt”. Jimmy looks like he was a boxer in a previous life, however I think he was actually an actor before claiming the British Number 1 spot in 1992 with this little number…I like how at the end he isn’t even trying to pretend to sing into the microphone!

So, please don’t judge me too harshly for having dodgy music taste and a clear weakness for boy bands! Instead, support me by linking up your own confession for the week and spreading the comment love.

The Rules…

– I Must Confess is a link up that will be happening every Sunday – a bit of a homage to my Catholic upbringing, in fact!

– The link will be live from 10pm Saturday night through to 11.59pm Monday night.

– You can link up something old or new as long as it relates to a confession of some kind, the revelation of an embarrassing secret, or getting something completely silly off your chest.

– Please go forth and share the comment love – it is bloggy crack after all!

– The linky is meant to be fun so please remember that and respect others – hopefully we can all have a little fun with this as we go along.

– You don’t have to be my friend to play along but it’s always nice to make new friends, isn’t it?

I am also linking up this post with the Sunday Session hosted by the wonderful Thea over at Do I Really Wanna Blog? If you haven’t participated in this linkup you should, it’s great fun and it is fast becoming one of my favourite linkups. So even if you have nothing you wish to confess, head on over to Thea’s blog and spend a lazy Sunday checking out this week’s musical lineup! (I heartily apologise to everyone for my selection this week – how embarrassment…)

Spread the positivity!

Glad you feel better after that Shelly!!! Yes, I liked them too (see, I really am a sucker for boy bands!) – in fact, a suggestion for Color Me Badd came up when I was putting this together, but they are not currently on my playlist so didn’t fit in with this weeks theme…

I may just have to do a part 2 to this one day based on things not currently on my playlist as I didn’t even go near NKOTB or Human Nature or Westlife or Boyzone (the list could honestly go on!!!) Oh, the horror I could subject you all to…! 😉
