Sunday Session – Songs from 1998

I’m quite excited to be finally joining in with Thea from Do I Really Wanna Blog‘s Sunday Session music linkup. I have been wanting to join in for a while but the timing etc has never been quite right so I’m pretty chuffed I’m going to finally join in this week!

Sometime this weekend (neither my husband or I can remember the exact date!) it will be 13 years since my husband and I first got together. It will also mark 13 years next month since I had my first big independent overseas adventure to New Zealand.

Given these milestones, I think it is fitting that I devote my first ever Sunday Session to music from that year, 1998, to include some tunes particularly close to my heart.

The first tune of my 1998 is Foolish Games by Jewel – this played a part in our actual getting together and was the song my husband and I eventually danced to at our wedding in 2000!

The second tune of my 1998 is Crush by Jennifer Page – I remember driving through New Zealand with my best friend in late 1998 singing this song at the top of our lungs – sorry New Zealand!

The third tune of my 1998 is Millennium by Robbie Williams – my friend and I both love Robbie to this very day! Plus he is cheeky and in a tuxedo in this video clip…swoon…

The fourth and final tune of my 1998 is Outside by George Michael – I love this song and the video clip, what a ballsy way to come back after being caught “outside” himself…

So that’s the soundtrack to my 1998 – happy listening everyone!

Spread the positivity!

1998 was a big year for us too. We got married, and had our son. Musically, I remember Celine Dion’s A New Day, and crying through her Christmas special, when my milk came in!

Millenium is my favourite from your selection. Love the strings in it! xx

The 90’s were big for Celine – who can forget My Heart Will Go on from Titanic?

Millennium is one of my all-time favourite songs. It’s funny that you mention the strings – when I look at all my favorites, most of them have strings featured in them – they really add a deeper dimension to the normal run of the mill pop song!

My niece was born in 1998 and her name is Jewel, yep, after this Jewel.

Thanks for holding it Thea! I love music and occasionally post a song on my blog so this is the perfect outlet for me on a Sunday. Hoping to become a regular!
